Back during the 2016 Democratic presidential primary, then-Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill declared, in advocating for Hillary Clinton’s candidacy over that of juggernaut Bernie Sanders, “It is very hard for most Americans to see how socialism would cure the problems we are facing right now.”
She is right.
Of course it’s hard for Americans to see how socialism can solve our problems when, by and large, they don’t know what it is. Why would they?
